H.K. advises corporations seeking to expand into foreign markets, particularly in Asia. In the U.S. national security sector, he advises companies on CFIUS compliance and counsels start-ups seeking government R&D funding.

H.K. is a client advisor and relationship manager for Crumpton Global. As head of the firm’s national security practice, he integrates the firm’s intelligence, geopolitical and technical expertise to help investors and corporates mitigate national security and reputational risks.  He leads client engagements related to deep diligence, export controls, KYC/AML, Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), and outbound investment screening.

He was previously Vice President of The Cohen Group where he led the firm’s Korea and Southeast Asia practices and assisted corporate clients with foreign market entry and regulatory approvals.  He also served as a policy advisor in the US Department of Defense on matters related to NATO, Southeast Asia, Outer Space, military procurement and homeland security.  

H.K. received his graduate degree from Columbia University and his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service.
